Product Description
The Vario clamp is a powerful tool for industrial clamping with distinctive features. It is equipped with a toggle connection mechanism that can accurately transmit and amplify the force, achieve stable clamping and ensure high-precision operation. Its continuously adjustable opening angle is 5° - 135°, which can adapt to workpieces of different sizes and shapes and has strong versatility.
The super-center lock design can maintain stable locking under vibration or external impact to prevent the workpiece from loosening. The closed aluminum shell has good protection and can block dust and moisture. The aluminum material is light and easy to install and move.
The oval cylinder is available in three sizes: 50, 63, and 80, which can be flexibly configured by the user. The fork-shaped clamping arm is matched with the standard hole pattern of the matching contour block, which is easy to install and has good compatibility.
In addition, it also provides an optional anti-welding induction (T12) function in the closed and open positions. During welding operations, it can effectively prevent damage to the fixture and workpiece caused by induced current, providing safety protection for special industrial scenarios. It is a practical and reliable fixture product.

1.Beschreibung
Der Pneumatikspanner ist ein Hochleistungswerkzeug, das für Spannaufgaben in der Blechverarbeitung konzipiert ist. Er besteht aus einem Pneumatikzylinder, einem Metallgehäuse mit allseitigen Befestigungsmöglichkeiten und einem Spannamm mit Aufnahme für das Konturstück.
During the clamping process, the cylinder builds up force by acting on an integrated lever mechanism, which triggers the swiveling movement of the clamping arm. The position of the clamping arm is controlled via a sensor element built into the cylinder.
2.Sicherheit
Der Pneumatikspanner ist nicht als sofort einsatzbereites Komplettwerkzeug konzipiert und verfügt daher nicht über eine eigene Sicherheitseinrichtung. Die sicherheitstechnischen Anforderungen werden erst erfüllt, wenn der Spanner ordnungsgemäß in ein Fertigungssystem integriert und eine entsprechende Sicherheitssteuerung eingerichtet ist.
Bei Mängeln, die Personen gefährden, ist der Betrieb des Pneu-matikspanners sofort einzustellen. Wartungsarbeiten dürfen nur im Stillstand von entsprechend geschultem Fachpersonal durchge-führt werden.
Nach den Wartungsarbeiten müssen die Schutzeinrichtungen wie-der ordnungsgemäβ angebracht werden.

3.Installing the pneumatic clamp
The installation of the pneumatic clamp should be carried out by means of cylinder screws and dowel pins, ensuring that the clamp is firmly fixed on one of the four housing sides. When installing, it is important to pay attention to choosing a suitable mounting position to ensure the best performance and safety of the clamp.
During installation, the minimum thread embedment depth must be strictly adhered to. This depth is critical to ensure the stability and reliability of the clamp, avoiding loosening or failure due to insufficient thread depth. Make sure all screws and dowel pins are installed correctly to achieve the best clamping effect and security.

- Druckluftversorgung zwischen Pneumatiksteuerung und Span-ner (Anschlüsse „N") herstellen.
Zur Dämpfung des Rückhubs (vor und zurück) müssen externe Drosselventile verwendet und auf die entsprechende Verfahr-geschwindigkeit eingestellt werden.
Achtung:The Variospanner is equipped with an integrated return stroke cushioning. However, the safety of the cushioning function is no longer guaranteed if the weight of the gripper arm exceeds the specified range. Therefore, the guidelines for the maximum gripper arm weight must be strictly observed (see design specifications)!
A.induktivabfrage (T12)
Elektrokupplung entsprechend elektrischer Ausführung des Pneumatikspanners (s.Schaltpläne) auf Anschlussstecker „C" aufsetzen und festschrauben.
Achtung: Der Betrieb mit falscher oder zu hoher Spannung kann zum Kurzschluss und zu Personenschäden führen.
Funktionskontrolle der integrierten LED wie folgt:

B.Montage Spannarm
Die Stege des Flansches haben unterschiedliche Höhen. Bei der Montage die Ausrichtung des Flansches beachten, siehe Bilder 2 a und 2 b.
Zuerst die Befestigungsschraube S 1 anziehen (kein Spalt).dann erst die Befestigungsschraube S 2 anziehen (Restspalt). Nur die mitgelieferten Befestigungselemente verwenden, Kür-zere Schrauben führen zur Beschädigung des Spannarms.

4.Blockiersystem ,,BG"
Variospanner in der Ausführung ,,BG" sind mit einem mechanischen,in ,,geschlossen"-Richtung wirkenden Blockiersystem ausgestattet. Im Fall eines spontanen Ausfalls der Druckluftversorgung wird die Bewegung des Spannarms in Richtung ,,geschlossen" unterbunden.
The resulting holding force is at least 50% of the rated force.
Important Tips:
If this holding force is exceeded, damage to internal components or shortened service life may result, even if the holding function remains effective for a short period of time.
"BG" blocking system
The blocking system consists of a set of balls which are arranged concentrically with the piston rod in a cone and are pressed into the cone by spring force. This causes the piston rod to be blocked in the intended closing direction.
The blocking function is automatically released by operation of the pneumatic control system, specifically in the "closing" direction.
In the event of air pressure failure, the piston rod clamping function remains available in any position of the clamp arm.
Important Tips:
If pneumatic grippers are used for gripping operations in dynamic applications after a longer period of non-use or storage, the return stroke must first be briefly applied before the forward stroke is activated. This ensures that the piston rod brake is safely released.

5.Breaking the toggle lock
The toggle mechanism can be unlocked, when the clamp arm is in closed (locked) position, by pressing the unlock pin "P".
In version “Z" the clamp can be opened via hand lever.
CAUTION: Danger of Pinching: Pressing the unlock pin “p” may cause the clamp arm to jump to open position. Keep hands out of clamp arm movement range.
6.Changing the opening angle
The opening angle on the Vario Power Clamps is infinitely adjustable within the standard range of 5°-135°, for the "Z" version 5°!-120°.Changing the opening angle also changes the end of stroke cushion and the position sensors.
Attention! The opening angle of the Vario Power Clamps with sensing system T08T may not be changed by the customer!
Set Up:
*Bring clamp am to open position.
*Read the pre-adjusted angle at the scale.
*Remove the locking screw in the cylinder bottom.
*Screw the hexagon socket at the piston rod until the desired opening angle is reached.
*Mount the locking screw at the cylinder bottom.
CAUTlON: Look out for a corect fastening and seat of the seal, because the inner space of the cylinder is sealed this way.
With changing the opening angle, the position of the trip cam changes automatically, so it is not necessary to set it separately.
When mounting the clamp arm in position 2 (see fig. 2 b), the max. opening angle is 105°!
7.Changing of position sensing cartridge
Remove position sensing cartridge by loosening screws "D".
Caution: Move clamp arm to the open position before replacing the position sensing cartridge!
8.Changing of position of the air connections
If absolutely necessary,the air connections "N" can be positioned at the front of the clamp by the following procedure:
- Bring pneumatic clamp into the opened position.
- Remove position sensing cartridge by loosening screws “D".
- Loosen the screws at the bottom of the cylinder and removethe drive cylinder.
- Rotate the cylinder bottom and the cylinder head by 180° sothat the air connection is positioned at the front.
- Re-assemble the cylinder and tighten the screws at the cylinder
Attention: it is absolutely mandatory that the trip cam is seated properly in the housing guide (see fig. 5).

9.Changing of clamp arm
To assure proper positioning and the repeat of clamp arm position of the replacement clamp arm tighten screw“S1" first (Zero opening between cap and arm body) and camp the arm by tightening screw “S2".
Recommended torque: V 50.1: 17 Nm/ 150 in/lb
V 63.1: 41 Nm/ 360 in/lb
V 80.1: 80 Nm/710 in/lb
10.Maintenance
Bearings and wear faces on the Vario Power Clamp have been designed with consideration for high production applications. This technical concept allows 3 million cycles without significant component wear.
Attention:To provide protection from welding slag and other debris,the clamp is equipped with a fully closed housing.Therefore, no special maintenance is required. Cleaning with high-pressure steam or dry ice may damage the power clamp.
